The early church model of ministry was not institutionalized in structure but instead consisted of churches meeting in homes of believers and under the authority of the apostolic church leaders. While church structures have changed significantly over the last 2000 years, the basic principles defining a Biblical model of church have not. The early church was described as living life together daily “in the temple and house to house”.

At Waypoint, we see our Sunday celebration service and our small groups going hand in hand as the foundational ministry structure of our church. There are many names to describe this type of small group ministry (cell groups, house church, etc), but they are essentially believers living out the values of the Kingdom in small groups. (Up, In and Out)
Small Groups at Waypoint are the core of who we are. We believe cell groups ARE the church.
Small groups are where Acts 2 community takes place through passionately seeking Jesus together, growing and reproducing disciples, providing a place for pastoral care, and reaching out to those around us with the love of Christ.
